"Bartolomeo Ánglico (Bartolomeo de Inglaterra) (nacido antes de 1203muerto en 1272) fue un erudito escolástico de principios del siglo XIII, miembro de la Orden Franciscana. Fue el autor del compendio De proprietatibus rerum ("Sobre las propiedades de las cosas"), fechado en el 1240, un temprano precursor de la enciclopedia y uno de los libros más populares de la Edad Media. Bartolomeo también mantuvo posiciones jerárquicas dentro de la Iglesia y fue designado obispo de Luków aunque no estuvo consagrado a esa posición."
"Bartholomaeus Anglicus (before 12031272), also known as Bartholomew the Englishman and Berthelet, was an early 13th-century scholastic of Paris, a member of the Franciscan order. He was the author of the compendium De proprietatibus rerum ("On the Properties of Things"), dated c.1240, an early forerunner of the encyclopedia and a widely cited book in the Middle Ages. Bartholomew also held senior positions within the church and was appointed Bishop of uków in what is now Poland, although he was not consecrated to that position."
